The U.S. Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, revealed that the United States has spent one billion dollars on operations to thwart Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. During a session of the appropriations committee in the Senate, Del Toro stated that "the United States has spent one billion dollars to prevent Houthi attacks." According to CNN, the American minister noted that the country has succeeded in thwarting over 130 attacks carried out by the Houthi group on military and commercial vessels in the Middle East. Del Toro urged U.S. lawmakers to approve a financial package to renew the necessary munitions to counter these attacks, emphasizing the importance of providing ammunition for the navy in facing challenges. He clarified: "We currently have approximately one billion dollars' worth of munitions that we need to renew, therefore the amount allocated in the supplemental that exceeds two billion dollars is essential for renewing munitions and enhancing the defensive measures we have been undertaking over the past six and a half months."
