Hunger Stares at Thousands of Prisoners in Ecuador

14,400 prisoners in Ecuador have been left without food after the cessation of operations by the company "La Fattoría," which was contracted to provide meals for prisons in the northern part of the country, due to unpaid bills from the state. The 20 prisons and detention centers designated for minor and adult crimes are located across several provinces of the country, and the aforementioned company stopped purchasing food supplies for them days ago. Meanwhile, the relatives of the prisoners have been delivering donations prepared by the company's employees. However, one of their representatives warned that they could only last until the end of April. The Ecuavisa channel inquired with the prison authority about who would provide food services after contracting with another company but did not receive a response. Meanwhile, many provinces in the country remain unaffected by this situation.
