Saudi Arabia Hosts the Longest Iftar Table in Indonesia

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized an iftar table at the Great National Mosque in Indonesia, measuring 1200 meters in length. The event was attended by 8,000 Indonesian citizens and witnessed a massive turnout of fasting individuals amidst intense security efforts and top-level organization.

For his part, the religious attaché at the Saudi embassy, Sheikh Ahmed bin Issa Al-Hazmi, confirmed that coordination took place with 40 restaurants and over 400 workers to set up and present the iftar in a commendable manner in Indonesia. Additionally, the Governor of West Sumatra, Engineer Mahyeldi Ansharullah, expressed his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the attention Saudi Arabia has given to Indonesia during the month of Ramadan. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, also made sure to extend his thanks for this commendable effort, tweeting from his official account: "Today, our sister Indonesia witnessed the largest iftar table, spanning 1200 meters, attended by more than 8000 fasting individuals in the city of Padang, West Sumatra, amidst praise and prayers from Indonesian leaders and citizens."
