Federico Valverde, a star for Real Madrid, directed insults towards one of his teammates during the victory over Real Mallorca (1-0) on Saturday, as part of round 31 of La Liga. According to the Spanish network "Defensa Central," Valverde vented his anger at Ibrahim Diaz after the latter lost possession of the ball while attempting to dribble and failed to return to defend and regain possession.
After Valverde neutralized Mallorca's threat in that attack, he rebuked the Moroccan international, saying, "Get the damn ball back... get the damn ball back, you son of a..." (an offensive insult towards the mother).
The network noted that the players spoke with each other after the match, as the incident gained significant attention on social media. Valverde believed he was justified in his anger over Diaz's behavior, asserting that he was fulfilling his role on the field as a leader without the armband.
It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid solidified its position at the top of La Liga with the 1-0 victory over Real Mallorca, thanks to a goal from French international Aurelien Tchouameni.
