Gallant: Any Iranian Attack Requires an Appropriate Response

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant indicated today, Thursday, that "Israel will respond directly to any Iranian attack." According to Gallant's office, the minister told his American counterpart Lloyd Austin: "Any direct Iranian attack will require an appropriate Israeli response to Iran." The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) stated that the two ministers discussed Washington's firm support for Israel's security against threats from Iran and its proxies. It noted: "Reaffirming President Biden's clear message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Secretary Austin assured Minister Gallant that Israel can rely on full U.S. support to defend against Iranian attacks, which Tehran has publicly threatened." Additionally, it was mentioned that the visit of the top American general in the Middle East, General Michael "Eric" Kurilla, to Israel was scheduled earlier to allow him to meet with Israeli military leadership and discuss "current security threats."
