Indonesian authorities have rescued at least 69 Rohingya refugees following the capsizing of their boat off the coast of Aceh province. These refugees were found clinging to a previously capsized boat about 30 kilometers from the shoreline of this region located at the western tip of the archipelago. Fishermen rescued six of the refugees on Wednesday, with one estimating that approximately 150 people were on board the boat. The search and rescue agency in Banda Aceh confirmed that "the total number of people rescued is 69," consisting of nine children, 18 women, and 42 men. The survivors were scheduled to be landed in Meulaboh, the main city in this region of western Aceh on the island of Sumatra.
