Bulgarian police discovered a weapons cache suspected to belong to the "Hamas" movement in Bulgaria during investigations related to four individuals suspected of being affiliated with the group. These individuals were arrested in Germany and the Netherlands in December, as reported by a judicial source on Thursday. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office, responsible for terrorism cases, announced on December 14 the arrest of four men suspected of collecting weapons in Berlin with the aim of launching potential attacks.
According to a German newspaper, the Federal Criminal Police found images of several handguns, ammunition, magazines, and other parts of weapons in a plastic bag on the mobile phone of one of the suspects. Utilizing the digital information contained in these images, investigators were able to trace the weapons to a cache in southern Bulgaria. The newspaper confirmed that Bulgarian police subsequently confiscated the weapons they found.
