The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants indicated that within the framework of dialogue, coordination, and cooperation between Lebanese authorities and the United Nations, represented by UNIFIL, "the first meeting of the joint working team from both parties was held on July 13, 2023, at the Grand Serail, attended by representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, the Lebanese Army Command, and representatives from UNIFIL leadership."
In a statement, it noted: "The meeting aimed to discuss the best ways to implement UNIFIL's mandate in Lebanon and address operational gaps. It was agreed that future meetings would be held regularly to strengthen the constructive and sustainable partnership between the two sides and maintain stability in southern Lebanon and the region." Lebanon emphasized its "respect and commitment to implementing all international resolutions issued by the United Nations," calling on all concerned parties to follow suit in this matter.
