King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized today, Tuesday, the necessity to work towards a ceasefire in Gaza and to protect civilians. During his meeting in Brussels with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, King Abdullah reiterated the importance of respecting international humanitarian law, ensuring the delivery of relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, and supporting the international organizations working there.
He stressed Jordan's rejection of any attempt to separate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip, noting that they are both an extension of a single Palestinian state. He pointed out the need to work towards a radical solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state solution in the post-war phase.
The meeting also addressed the partnership and cooperation relations between Jordan and the European Union, with both sides keen to reinforce them in various fields.
