Pro-Palestinian Gathering Concurrently with "Met Gala"

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered on Monday evening near the Metropolitan Museum, which was hosting the "Met Gala," to protest the war in Gaza, before police apprehended several of them. Among the gathering points for the protesters were the entrances to Columbia University, which has become a major hub for pro-Palestinian demonstrations at American universities. The protesters then crossed Manhattan to get as close as possible to the famous Fifth Avenue, where the Metropolitan Museum is located and where the "Met Gala," a social and charitable event centered around fashion, was taking place with numerous celebrities in attendance. It was unclear how many individuals were arrested while the stars walked the red carpet and photographers captured their images.
