Tunis: Arrest of a Terrorist Classified as "Very Dangerous"

The Tunisian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of Mahmoud Salami, the leader of the "Ajnad al-Khilafah" battalion, classified as very dangerous, who is also known as "Youssef." The ministry stated in a press release that security forces apprehended Salami following a well-planned ambush on one of the routes leading to the strongholds of terrorist elements in the mountains of Kasserine. It was reported that weapons, explosives, and suicide belts were seized in his possession. The statement mentioned that "Salami joined terrorist organizations and participated in several terrorist operations targeting security and military formations, as well as robbery and intimidation of citizens in the area." The Ministry confirmed that investigations are still ongoing in coordination with the Public Prosecution Office in the Judicial Pole for Combating Terrorism.
