Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, in response to the head of the "Free Patriotic Movement" Jebran Bassil, stated that Bassil wants to separate the southern front from Gaza "and that does not work." Berri emphasized that "the unity of the arenas is established, whether they like it or not." In response to the head of the Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea, Berri affirmed that "there will be no municipal elections without the south" and insisted that Geagea needs to understand that "I am not ready to separate the south from Lebanon." He noted that the danger in Geagea's statement concerns federalism, indicating that we are still in "definitely sensitive situations." Berri pointed out that "the rules of engagement have changed, and the main result of the Iranian carpet is that it told Israel, 'the past era is over.'"
