A book being circulated at the Tunis International Book Fair has sparked widespread controversy and accusations of promoting homosexuality and "deviating from values and ethics," leading the fair's management to withdraw it. The book is titled "Sin and Gam Sexuality" and is written in Tunisian colloquial Arabic, containing a series of questions and answers related to "sexual education."
The book has drawn criticism and sparked debates among activists on social media. Writer and media personality Saleh Souissi commented: "Under the guise of freedom, these publications are available at the fair and are aimed at children and adolescents and are distributed for free with the sponsorship of the United Nations Population Fund and the Tunisian Association for Reproductive Health."
Souissi added on his Facebook page: "I am not against sexual education or sexual culture, on the contrary, but I am against the approach presented in the book." He explained that "the author of the book directs children to accept homosexuality and unnatural relationships, and this content is written in Tunisian colloquial language, and the goal is clear; therefore, the claims of human rights activists and their followers are unacceptable because we understand and distinguish between things," as he expressed.
