The Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, inspected the ongoing search operations last night, which have been continuing since Saturday afternoon for two missing Syrian young men who disappeared while swimming off the Ramlet El Bayda beach. Several drowning incidents have been reported due to high waves and fast currents.
The marine rescue unit of the Civil Defense and nearby land centers managed to recover the body of a Syrian male who had drowned the day before, and his body was transferred to "Al-Zahraa" Hospital after the relevant security agencies carried out necessary legal procedures.
Paramedics also provided first aid to a Palestinian young man rescued from drowning by his friends. The marine rescue unit used a Drone and a rescue boat to conduct a comprehensive search for the two missing Syrian men. Brigadier Khattar instructed the teams to "continue search operations along the beach and complete a thorough search, by land, sea, and air, until the missing individuals are found."
He emphasized the "importance of taking the highest precautions when heading to the beach or river and lake banks under these changing weather conditions and adhering to public safety guidelines issued by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, as well as contacting emergency number 125 to report any emergencies."
