Philippe Lazarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, confirmed that "there are concerns about the potential start of evacuations in Rafah if an agreement is not reached this week," referring to ongoing talks between Israel and Hamas mediated by Egypt for a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners. In a press conference from Geneva, Lazarini stated, "Israeli forces have not yet requested that Palestinian evacuees leave the city, even though Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the evacuation process has begun." He also reminded that there are still problems and obstacles facing the delivery of aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, saying, "There are difficulties facing aid convoys in Gaza." At the same time, he noted that "more food supplies have arrived in Gaza in April, but they are still insufficient."
