The European Commission has transferred a new tranche of aid to Ukraine's budget amounting to €1.5 billion as part of a program totaling €50 billion designed until 2027. The European Commission stated in a press release that it has "transferred the second emergency funding installment to Ukraine from the Ukraine fund of €1.5 billion." The first installment of €4.5 billion was disbursed for the first three months of 2024 in March. The Commission noted that following the new tranche transfer, the total amount of assistance to Kyiv from the EU, according to its calculations, has increased to €98.5 billion. This amount includes over €18 billion transferred from the EU budget to member states for the reception and accommodation of Ukrainian refugees. The EU program to support Kyiv's budget is officially designed for €50 billion until the end of 2027. However, the spending rate of this fund (€1.5 billion per month) will lead to the depletion of the available funds in September 2026.
