Night Pursuit and Gunfire in Dekweneh

The night in Dekweneh was neither calm nor ordinary this past Tuesday, as the area witnessed a chase reminiscent of police movies. Mayor Antoine Shakhtoura recounted the details of what occurred, where the municipal police, conducting nighttime patrols, grew suspicious of two cars in Mar Roukoz. When they pursued them, the cars attempted to flee and opened fire, resulting in one of the vehicles colliding with the municipal police car, after which the driver fled on foot. Meanwhile, a second patrol pursued the other vehicle, which crashed into a wall, and the driver was arrested; a gun was also found inside the car. Fingerprinting was conducted on both vehicles, while an investigation was initiated to determine what these individuals were planning.
