Saudi Arabia Expresses Concern Over Regional Developments

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its grave concern early Sunday morning regarding the developments of military escalation in the Middle East and the seriousness of its repercussions, calling on the parties to exercise restraint. The ministry stated in a statement: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's deep concern over the developments of military escalation in the region and the seriousness of its repercussions, and calls on all parties to exhibit the utmost levels of restraint and spare the region and its peoples the dangers of wars." The statement added: "The ministry reaffirms the Kingdom's position which calls for the Security Council to fulfill its responsibility towards maintaining international peace and security, particularly in this highly sensitive region for global peace and security, in order to prevent the crisis from escalating, which would have dire consequences if it expands." The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Saturday evening that it "carried out an operation with drones and missiles in response to Israel's crime of bombing the Iranian consulate in Syria."
