Prime Minister Najib Mikati performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer at the Great Mansouri Mosque in Tripoli, led by the Mufti of Tripoli and the North, Sheikh Muhammad Tarek Imam. The Prime Minister wished all Lebanese a happy Eid and days filled with health, wellness, peace of mind, and prosperity, hoping for an end to the Israeli aggression against southern Lebanon. He stated, "We all trust that our nation will regain its health through the concerted efforts of everyone, their positive cooperation, and their unity around the state, which we are keen on ensuring its continuity and structural integrity." In his Eid sermon, Sheikh Imam remarked, "The responsible officials are fasting from their responsibilities; is it not time for them to break their fast?! The day has come for them to address our significant national issues, from electing a president to the regular functioning of councils, institutions, and administrations, to uprooting corruption, to ensuring security and protecting people's lives, and a long list of the needs of people suffering for their dignity and the future of their children."
