Doctor Alexander Myasnikov revealed the mistakes people make when measuring their blood pressure due to improper use of the pressure measuring device. According to him, the mistakes are:
1. **Emotional and Physical State:** The doctor points out that one should sit quietly for five minutes and think of something positive and beneficial before measuring blood pressure. He also advises against consuming green tea and coffee prior to the measurement, as they can affect the results.
2. **Stomach and Bladder:** Myasnikov recommends measuring blood pressure with an empty bladder and not immediately after eating, but rather some time after that.
3. **Proper Positioning:** Myasnikov emphasizes the necessity of measuring blood pressure in a proper position. For instance, he advises measuring it while seated calmly on a chair with the back supported and legs uncrossed. Crossing the legs can cause a rise in blood pressure readings by up to 10 mmHg. According to him, feet should be flat on the ground and the arm where the device is placed should be on a table at heart level.
