The night in Baghdad and Dhi Qar was anything but ordinary; there are those who are lurking around security to destabilize this country, where everyone is striving to prevent a deterioration of the situation and a return to internal conflict. Just before midnight, a violent clash occurred between federal police forces and armed individuals in the Kasra and Atash industrial area in Sadr City, eastern Baghdad. Special sources reported that a security force entered the Kasra and Atash area to carry out a mission to confiscate unauthorized vehicles and spare parts, leading to clashes and an exchange of gunfire with those refusing to surrender the vehicles. While reinforcements were sent to the area to regain control of the situation early in the morning, conflicting reports emerged regarding three injuries, including a police officer, and the death of a member of the security forces.
Additionally, Dhi Qar governorate witnessed three security incidents early on Sunday. It was reported that poet Falah Al-Badri was assassinated near Al-Mukhdir market in Nasiriyah by armed individuals on a motorcycle. In Dhi Qar, the house of the director of municipal properties in Nasiriyah was targeted with an explosive device, causing damage to the facade of the house without resulting in any human casualties. In a separate incident in Dhi Qar, university professor in the media college, Muqdad Al-Majid, survived an assassination attempt by unknown individuals on a motorcycle in the city of Nasiriyah.
