The Indonesian Geophysics Agency reported that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of the Indonesian island of Java today, at a depth of ten kilometers, according to "Russia Today." The agency added, "The epicenter of the earthquake was located 132 kilometers north of the village of Tuban in East Java Province." It noted that "the occurrence of a tsunami due to the earthquake is unlikely." Residents felt the tremors strongly in East Java, as well as in cities in neighboring provinces, and there were no immediate reports of damage.
