Iraqi Parliament Fails to Elect a President in the First Round

The Iraqi Parliament failed to elect a president in the first round. The Iraqi Council of Representatives began the procedures for electing a new president today, Saturday. A statement from the council's media department noted that "the Council of Representatives has started the procedures for electing its new president." It also mentioned that "the number of attending representatives has increased to 258." The attendance has risen to 258 representatives.
