Jamie Carragher, a Liverpool legend, labeled Egyptian star Mohamed Salah as a "fool" due to his remarks following his verbal altercation with coach Jürgen Klopp on Saturday. Salah became embroiled in a disagreement with the German coach after he was placed on the bench during the team's match against West Ham. As the Egyptian prepared to participate in the game in the 79th minute, footage revealed the player’s frustration directed at Klopp, escalating the situation until intervention by Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez.
Klopp refused to disclose the reason for the disagreement with the Egyptian star, stating: "We have already talked in the dressing room, and for me, the matter is over." For his part, Salah told reporters present at the London Olympic Stadium after the match: "If I speak today, I will ignite the flames."
Carragher declined to take sides but described Salah as a "fool" for his post-match comment. The Liverpool legend added on his official "X" account: "Mohamed Salah and Klopp are legends of Liverpool; we do not need to side with either. Salah is frustrated and angry with Klopp for not starting, but Salah was a fool for the comment he made to the media in the mixed zone."
