The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Tuesday that 7 Gazans died while trying to retrieve aid dropped by planes using parachutes that fell into the sea. The ministry reported that one of them died early Tuesday "due to drowning injuries in the northern Gaza sea." It noted that the other six drowned on Monday while "trying to obtain aid dropped by planes into the sea."
Additionally, the Health Ministry in the region stated that 6 others were injured during the same incident. Meanwhile, the "Government Media Office" affiliated with Hamas in Gaza reported that in recent hours, 18 Palestinians were killed due to the mishandled dropping of supplies from planes. The government media office clarified that among the dead, 12 citizens drowned in the sea off the northern Gaza Governorate, as dozens of hungry citizens entered the sea to get aid dropped by planes. It pointed out that 6 others were killed due to overcrowding in multiple locations while trying to obtain aid that was improperly dropped by planes.
