Israeli government spokesperson David Mincer confirmed in a press briefing that "Israel will eliminate the remaining four brigades of Hamas in Rafah, but will not necessarily eliminate all Hamas fighters in the city." He added that "Israel has requested Egypt to open the Rafah crossing for Gaza residents wishing to flee from the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza for the past seven months, but the request was denied."
