Al Jazeera reporter Wail Al-Dahdouh revealed details on Friday evening about the targeting of him and fellow photographer Samer Abu Daqa, who was later announced as martyred. Al-Dahdouh stated that they attempted to coordinate for an ambulance to transport footage from the area, and after completing their mission, they were caught off guard by a missile.
He confirmed that he and his colleague Samer were targeted after accompanying an ambulance that had coordination to evacuate a besieged family. Al-Dahdouh also noted that Israeli forces opened fire on ambulances trying to reach Samer Abu Daqa. He mentioned that he managed to cover hundreds of meters after being injured, trying to stop the bleeding until he reached paramedics.
