Officials at Al-Nassr are close to reaching an agreement with a Real Madrid legend to take on an important position at the club in the near future. According to the "Al-Riyadia" newspaper, Al-Nassr is in negotiations with Fernando Hierro, the former star of Real Madrid who served as an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti during his first term with the royal team, to fill the role of sports director.
The newspaper added that Hierro is the front-runner for this position due to his extensive football career, noting that the negotiations are progressing positively, and a deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days. Hierro is currently serving as a sports director at Deportivo Guadalajara in Mexico since October of last year, and he previously led the Spanish national team at the 2018 World Cup.
Al-Nassr is searching for a sports director after Portuguese Miguel Ribeiro declined the position, despite having previously reached an agreement with him.
