President of Beirut Arab University Participates in the Scientific and Educational Forum

The President of Beirut Arab University, Professor Wael Nabil Abdul Salam, participated in the scientific and educational forum "Universities and the Future" at Moscow State University, which was attended by more than 100 deans and representatives from foreign universities in China, Vietnam, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Turkey, and other countries. The forum aimed to highlight the role of universities in global human development, stating that "universities are centers of enlightenment and education, training the youth, the generation of the future."

The forum opened with a speech from the President of the Russian Union of Rectors, who considered the emergence of universities as the most important event in world history and a crucial factor in societal development. The President of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, stated, "Universities always bear significant responsibility in outlining the frameworks for community development and the future of nations and humanity."

On the sidelines of the forum, Beirut Arab University, represented by President Wael Nabil Abdul Salam, signed a memorandum of understanding with Lomonosov Moscow State University, represented by its President Viktor Sadovnichy, for a duration of five years. The agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of faculty members in teaching, research, and professional development, as well as student exchanges in study abroad programs or joint degree programs. This collaboration includes issuing publications, establishing research projects, organizing lectures and conferences, and exchanging academic resources, including databases and library resources, as well as collaboration in curriculum development and quality.

Additionally, Professor Wael Nabil Abdul Salam signed a cooperation agreement with Chechen State University for five years in the fields of education and performance improvement in higher education and postgraduate studies. The agreement stipulates the training of qualified specialists in education, science, and research, developing exchange programs between students and faculty, and establishing joint educational programs at the undergraduate, master's, specialized, and postgraduate levels, as well as obtaining scholarships within the educational programs available to both parties. Furthermore, the agreement includes organizing specialized online lectures for faculty members, conducting joint research and publishing it, organizing conferences and roundtables, and inviting the university administration to attend programs on modern management methods.
