In a post on X platform, Sisi said, "I am closely following the positive developments unfolding in the current negotiations for a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip."
Sisi called on "all parties to exert more effort to reach an agreement that leads to ending the humanitarian tragedy faced by the Palestinian people and completing the exchange of hostages and prisoners."
Hamas announced its acceptance of the Egyptian-Qatari proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the movement. The statement indicated that Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas's political bureau, made a phone call to Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel, informing them of Hamas's approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement on Monday.
