French star Kylian Mbappé delivered a special message to the fans of Olympique Marseille, the traditional rival of his team Paris Saint-Germain, before playing a friendly match with the French national team at the "Vélodrome" stadium, home of Marseille. In a television interview, Mbappé spoke about the upcoming match against Chile and the significance of playing at the "Vélodrome." The young French star said, "I know I won't be on occupied ground there (laughing)," adding, "Personally, I have no problem with what might await me there (like jeers), but I personally understand that. Even though I represent my country, I will still be seen by them (Marseille fans) as a Paris Saint-Germain player, so I don't expect a red carpet to be laid out for me."
In recent years, Mbappé has become accustomed to scoring against Marseille, having netted 13 goals in the last 15 matches between the two teams. Marseille fans regard the Paris Saint-Germain team as their eternal rival, and their matches are usually marked by intensity.
