Israel assassinated Mohammad Reza Zahidi, the commander of the "Quds Force" in Syria and Lebanon, who is considered one of the most prominent Iranian figures in the region. He was a direct supervisor of the Revolutionary Guard's operations in the two mentioned countries and had a close relationship with "Hezbollah." Following his assassination, activists circulated images of Zahidi during his presence in Lebanon, along with a video documenting his presence at the fronts of the 33-day war in Lebanon in 2006. The video also featured the late commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, and Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh.
Additionally, the death toll from the attack targeting the Iranian consulate in Damascus has risen to 13, including 7 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei confirmed that "Israel will be punished, and we will make them regret this crime and others."
