Frustration of Drug Smuggling Attempt Hidden in Candy Powder

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to uncover drug smuggling networks in and out of Lebanon, and to pursue those involved and arrest them, information was obtained by the Information Branch regarding an individual's plan to smuggle a quantity of drugs to a European country via a shipping office.

Immediately, the specialized units in the branch began their investigative and technical procedures to thwart the smuggling operation, identify those involved, and locate the drug shipment. As a result of intensive inquiries and investigations, they identified the shipping office that would be used for the smuggling operation and one of its warehouses in the Al-Masnaa area - Bekaa. They also uncovered the identity of the person responsible for the smuggling operation, who used a fake identity to conceal his true identity during the operation, named: N. H. (born in 1993, Lebanese) who was on the run.

On January 4, 2024, one of the patrols from the Information Branch went to the Al-Masnaa area and raided the warehouse. Upon searching it, they seized 23.6 kg of hashish professionally hidden inside a shipment of candy powder. A search and arrest warrant was issued against (N. H.), and legal actions were taken regarding the seized items, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
