Cosmic Kiss Between Jupiter and the Moon on Valentine's Day?

It seems that the romantic atmosphere of Valentine's Day has transcended Earth and reached other planets in the galaxy in a surreal fashion. NASA revealed that Earth will witness a "cosmic kiss" between the Moon and Jupiter on Valentine's Day, this Wednesday evening. The crescent and Jupiter will appear, according to the Daily Mail, to be just a few finger widths apart to observers on Earth about an hour after sunset, although they will actually be around 227 million miles apart. This event is not rare, but its occurrence on Valentine's Day is unique. According to astrology, the alignment of these cosmic bodies in the night sky represents growth, abundance, healing, and good luck. The event will be particularly visible in Singapore and Australia due to an optical illusion that makes the Moon appear larger near the horizon than it does high in the sky. It is noted that Jupiter is at a distance of 365 million miles at its closest point to Earth and 601 million miles at its farthest point, and on Thursday evening, Jupiter will be about 480 million miles from our planet.
