The Spanish Football Federation has decided to partially close the main stand of Getafe's stadium for three matches after racial insults and xenophobic remarks were directed at Sevilla's coach Kiki Sánchez Flores and player Marcos Acuña during a La Liga match last Saturday. The federation stated that "the closed area in the stands must display a clear message condemning violence, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in football and support fair play." Referee Iglesias Villanueva stopped the match in the 68th minute in compliance with the league's anti-racism protocol after he heard chants from fans in the stands targeting the Argentine defender, referring to him as "a monkey," while the Spanish coach was called a "gypsy." The club has also been fined €27,000 ($29,000).
