Syria Presidency: Diagnosis of First Lady with Myeloid Leukemia

The presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic announced that after the appearance of clinical symptoms, followed by a series of medical tests, the First Lady Asma Assad has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (leukemia), according to "SANA." The presidency clarified that "the First Lady will undergo a specialized treatment protocol that requires isolation conditions with appropriate social distancing, and thus she will refrain from direct work and participation in events and activities as part of the treatment plan."
