The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced that it successfully carried out the first launch of the new Long March-6C space rocket today, Tuesday. In a statement released by the corporation, it said: "CASC successfully executed the first launch of the environmentally friendly Long March-6C rocket today." The rocket was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China at 11:21 Beijing time (06:21 Moscow time), carrying four satellites into orbit, including the Haiwang-01 and Zhixing-1C satellites.
The Long March-6C is a two-stage liquid-fueled rocket, developed by experts at the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology, with a length of 43 meters and a diameter of 3.35 meters. It can carry 4.5 tons of payload to low Earth orbit.
China has actively worked on developing its national space program in recent years, launching numerous satellites for meteorological services, remote sensing, communication, and navigation. The country is also engaged in projects to study asteroids and Mars, and it has established a space station for scientific research. Last year, it conducted 67 space launches and plans to carry out another 100 space launches this year.
