Arrests Made for Drug Crimes by Security Forces

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced today, Tuesday, that "as part of the efforts carried out by Internal Security Forces to combat crimes throughout Lebanon, information was received by the special unit of the Judicial Police regarding the presence of a wanted individual in Sidon, where a patrol from the precinct was able to arrest him in the mentioned city." The statement continued: "It was found that he is named: W. M. (born in 1971, Lebanese) and is wanted for human trafficking crimes. Upon searching him, a military firearm and forged identity documents were found in his possession."

The statement further noted, "The special unit also gathered information about a person named (A. A.) using the apartment he resides in at the Nahr El-Mout area for drug trafficking and promotion. As a result of monitoring and surveillance, a force from the unit succeeded in arresting him and another individual accompanying him on a motorcycle. It was found that they are named:

- A. A. (born in 1988, Lebanese)

- A. K. (born in 1989, Lebanese)

Upon searching them and the apartment, equipment and nylon envelopes used for drug trafficking were discovered." The statement concluded: "Legal procedures were taken against the arrested individuals, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the competent authority based on judicial orders."
