A delegation representing opposition MPs has departed for Washington, including Michel Moawad from the Renewal Bloc, Nadim Gemayel from the Kataeb Bloc, George Adwan from the Strong Republic Bloc, and Mark Daou and Waddah Sadek from the Change Alliance Bloc. The delegation will hold several meetings next week at the White House, the State Department, the Treasury Department, Congress, think tanks, the International Monetary Fund, and with Lebanese-American groups in order to convey the opposition's perspective on various issues, including the situation of the war in Southern Lebanon and Gaza amidst the risk of its expansion, the presidential file, and the Syrian displacement issue. The delegation will also engage in a series of discussions related to the financial economic situation and associated reforms. The visit will begin with a meeting with former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale, alongside a dinner invitation hosted in their honor by Lebanese-American Congressman and Chairman of the American-Lebanese Friendship Committee Darin LaHood.
