Title: "Ogero Rejects Minister of Communications' Accusations"

Title:

The Executive Council of the Ogero Employees Union held a meeting to discuss statements made by the Minister of Communications to a news site regarding an investigation he intends to conduct to ensure there are no intentions among Ogero employees to disrupt the public sector. The attendees issued a statement rejecting the "malicious insinuations" contained in Minister Karam's remarks about employees who have been dedicated for decades to preserving the telecommunications sector despite the pressing circumstances and the bankruptcy of the state and its institutions. They emphasized that telecommunications services, both fixed and mobile, have never been interrupted, whether locally or internationally, as well as internet and data services provided daily by Ogero employees during all the crises that have affected our beloved country.

They expressed astonishment at how the Minister of Communications precisely identified the main exchange sites that feed the Alfa network in his statement, warning that such information jeopardizes telecommunications security. They stressed that "those who are concerned with national security in telecommunications for decades are the employees of Ogero, who have never hesitated to fully perform their duties to maintain this entire sector."

They noted that "the Executive Council is sounding the alarm," calling on the Minister of Communications to quickly form a committee of experts to prepare a detailed report on the condition of the electrical generators that service the exchanges, which led to a malfunction last Wednesday due to one of them halting operation in Fatqa. These generators have deteriorated to the point where they are at risk of stopping work at any time.

While the Executive Council confirmed its continuation of the warning strike scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, April 3 and 4, it pointed out that "the purpose of the strike is to demand the basic rights of Ogero employees to restore the value of their salaries equal to that of workers in the telecommunications sector."
