Tesla has decided to eliminate the "annoying feature" that requires drivers to touch the steering wheel while using the "autopilot" feature. The electric vehicle forces drivers to grip the wheel even when autopilot is activated, which drivers find bothersome.
When the wheel is released, the Tesla car shakes the steering wheel and sends warning vibrations to the drivers. However, this feature will be removed in future updates, according to the company's CEO Elon Musk, who confirmed in a tweet that new car updates will come without the "annoying feature."
Tesla sends these alerts approximately every minute, depending on your driving speed. The alerts can become irritating and repetitive, as Tesla now uses the in-cabin camera to detect driver attention and will send alerts if it discovers that the driver has not been looking at the road for more than three seconds.
