In a charming scene that went viral on social media, several bears were seen riding a "pedal-powered" water vehicle shaped like a swan to cross a water area. After heavy rainfall created a small lake in the 13-acre reserve, the keepers at Woburn Safari Park decided to lower a swan-shaped watercraft into the lake to help the animals move around. According to Tommy Babington, the Deputy Head of Wildlife at the park in Bedfordshire, England, the bears "immediately took a liking" to the swan and "wasted no time in climbing aboard." He said, "It was very entertaining for visitors to see them getting onto the vehicle; we love finding new ways to provide food and scent and enrich situations that stimulate their natural foraging behaviors." He emphasized that "bears are naturally very curious animals, and keepers encourage that in all kinds of ways as it keeps their minds and bodies active." It is noted that the four black bears are a pair of siblings, two males and two females, named Harvard, Mabel, Colorado, and Aspen, originally from North America, and they can grow up to two meters long.
