Clashes Between Smuggling Groups near the Bordering Wadi Khaled Area... Gunfire Hits Homes

Last night, there was intense gunfire exchanged between smuggling groups on the outskirts of the town of Al-Owishat on the Syrian side of the Great River, opposite the border area of Wadi Khaled in Akkar. Stray bullets hit several homes in neighboring Lebanese villages and towns near the Wadi Khaled border, with no reported injuries. Residents expressed their concern and fear due to the recurrence of such clashes.
