Israel reopened the Kerem Shalom crossing on Wednesday morning, after closing it on Sunday following Hamas's rocket fire on a military site nearby. White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre stated on Tuesday that the United States had been informed that the Kerem Shalom crossing would reopen on Wednesday. Hamas's military wing claimed responsibility for firing rockets at the military site near the Kerem Shalom crossing. The Israeli army announced the death of three soldiers due to the attack, noting that the rockets were launched from the neighboring Rafah area. The Kerem Shalom crossing serves as the main gateway for urgently needed humanitarian aid to Gaza.
