This year, the holy month of Ramadan began in March, which is known as the beginning of spring. Every year, the holy month arrives approximately 10 days earlier. This raises the significant question: when will Ramadan occur in summer?
To answer this, the Saudi astronomical researcher and meteorological expert, Dr. Moqadim, who presents the daily "Calendar" segment on Al Arabiya channel, stated that we will bid farewell to Ramadan in the spring season two years from now. He pointed out that in the year 1447, Ramadan will enter in the winter season, lasting there for nearly 9 years. He also confirmed that the holy month will not return to summer for about 18 years.
Dr. Moqadim emphasized that Ramadan this year acts as a transition between winter and summer, explaining that the nights of the holy month coincide with the "Udriah" season, which lasts for 26 days and features elements from both summer and spring, culminating in the farewell of spring.
He added that at the beginning of the holy month, the next 90 days will see a gradual increase in temperatures, noting that there are five countries competing for the highest temperatures: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, and Libya.
It is worth mentioning that Ramadan is the ninth month in the Hijri calendar, which follows the month of Sha'ban. This month holds special significance for Muslims, being the month of fasting—one of the five pillars of Islam—where Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, and other prohibited actions from dawn until sunset.
