Iranian media have published images and banners erected in the streets of the capital, Tehran, calling for revenge against Israel following the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus last Monday. The same media outlets released photos of five Israeli military leaders, labeling them as targets for Iranian "revenge," accompanied by writings in Hebrew and English such as "We will avenge" and "We will retaliate." Most of these banners are seen in the streets near embassies that have relations with Israel. The banners prominently feature images of Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi, as well as commanders from the Israeli navy and air force. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior officials in Tehran have vowed to respond to the killing of prominent Revolutionary Guard leaders in the Damascus attack, while an Iranian delegation has traveled to Damascus to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack. Reports indicated that the Iranian consulate in Damascus was attacked, which is said to have been orchestrated by Israel.
