Manchester City momentarily topped the English Premier League after defeating Luton Town 5-1 on Saturday. The team, managed by Josep Guardiola, has 73 points with six matches remaining, two points ahead of both Arsenal and Liverpool, who could overtake City if they win on Sunday.
City opened the scoring just 70 seconds into the match when Erling Haaland's shot deflected off Daiki Hashioka and into his own net. Mateo Kovačić doubled City's lead in the 64th minute with a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. Haaland scored from a penalty in the 76th minute, marking his 20th league goal this season, after Doku was fouled in the area.
Ross Barkley capitalized on a defensive error from City to reduce the deficit in the 84th minute, but Doku scored City's fourth goal after a stunning series of dribbles, and Josko Gvardiol completed the scoring with the fifth before the end of the match.
