Sisi: Egypt is a Very Strong Country

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi called on everyone today, Saturday, to respect Egypt's sovereignty and its position in the region, following the fall of drones on two Egyptian cities overlooking the Red Sea yesterday, Friday. During the annual international forum and industry exhibition held in Cairo, Sisi stated: "Egyptians should feel safe, and the army is capable of protecting the country." He emphasized that "Egypt will continue to play a positive role in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, and it does not want the conflict to escalate regionally."

He continued, "We are keen on our positive role in easing the crisis by releasing prisoners and hostages, and when it concludes, we will announce the details." Sisi addressed the Egyptians, saying that "the Egyptian state, thanks to its people, army, and awareness, is fully capable of protecting its country. Do not worry." He stressed that "Egypt is a very strong country that should not be touched... Egypt is a sovereign state, and its sovereignty must be respected."

He added: "I tell Egyptians: I would like to reassure you... no one can... no one can," seemingly referring to concerns over attempts to drag Egypt into the conflict.
