The President of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, has called the committees of Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, National Economy, Trade and Industry, Planning, Education, Higher Education, and Culture to a joint session at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. The agenda will include the following items: 1- Decree No. 12836 concerning the amendment of some provisions of laws related to the regulation of the educational body in private schools and the organization of the school budget. 2- Decree No. 12837 concerning the provision of financial assistance to the Board of Directors of the Compensation Fund for the educational staff in private schools established by the law issued on June 5, 1956. 3- A proposal for a law to impose an exceptional tax on companies and institutions that have benefited from the Central Bank's support for goods and commodities, proposed by MP Bilal Abdullah.
In a separate context, Nabih Berri received former minister and President of the Economic Bodies, Mohammad Shuqair, at the second presidential office in Ain al-Tineh, where they discussed economic and social conditions. Berri also followed up on the developments in the political and field situation in light of Israel's continued aggression against Lebanon and Gaza and the atrocities committed against civilians during his meeting with former minister Ghazi Al-Aryedi.
