Carol and Michael Middleton have received a new shock due to their business operations at Party Pieces, just days after the announcement of their daughter Kate, the Princess of Wales, being diagnosed with cancer. The company was undergoing restructuring to address its financial insolvency; however, that restructuring has faced a significant setback. Party Pieces, founded by the Middleton family in 1987, entered external "administration" last June with debts exceeding £2.5 million. Interpath Advisory was appointed to manage the company's troubles, but now, that administration finds itself unable to cover all liabilities, as the amount continues to rise beyond £260,000. Party Pieces was established by Carol and Michael Middleton in 1987, seven years after their marriage. The company sold party supplies and was once so successful that the resulting funds helped cover the costs of sending Princess Kate and her siblings Pippa and James to the prestigious Marlborough College, a private school in Wiltshire.
